Biography

Christine is excited to join Cal Poly as an Assistant Professor of UX. With over two decades of industry experience at companies such as IBM, Amazon, and Dell EMC, she has led teams of designers and researchers in the U.S., Hong Kong, China, Singapore, and the Philippines. Her role as a design executive has fueled her passion for aligning corporate business objectives with human-centric design. In her previous position as a Senior Director of User Experience (UX), Christine brought a wealth of industry expertise, consistently leading cross-functional teams to create user-centric, innovative, and highly effective design solutions. She is also experienced in building teams and credibility with executive management, key clients, and employees through excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

With a strong design background and a dedicated focus on teaching, she aims to create an interactive learning environment that promotes the exploration of modern UX methods and approaches. Her main goal is to motivate and enable aspiring UX professionals, equipping them with the ability to create user-centered designs that enhance business effectiveness.

Before joining Cal Poly, Christine taught undergraduate and graduate UX and business courses at Maryland Institute College of Art, San Diego State University, San Jose City College, and the University of Miami. In addition to teaching, she is completing her Executive Doctorate in Business Administration at Saint Mary’s College, where she focuses her dissertation on the future of work as AI augments and transforms the design process.
